Our
Kindergarten
A very warm "Welcome" to Rainbow Haven Kindergarten! Rainbow Haven Kindergarten is situated in a beautiful five acre bushland setting and is the culmination of endless hours of work and love by Maryanne and Darren Jack, the owners of Rainbow Haven Kindergarten, who set out to establish the best and most enriching early childhood experience possible for their children, Brandon and Joshua, and other young children in our community.
Hours of Operation
We are open 50 weeks of the year, closing for approximately two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. We are open from 7:15am to 6:15pm, Monday to Friday.
Educational Programs
Our daily programs are based on the individual needs and interests of each child. Daily activities are planned and programmed by qualified and experienced staff, where children are able to make choices in a safe, stimulating and challenging environment under staff supervision and guidance.
The programs allow for a range of individual, small group and large group experiences as well as providing for indoor and outdoor activities, quiet and active times, structured and self-initiated experiences.
Shows, visitors and special days at Kindergarten are an important part of our curriculum and relevant information is provided to all parents in advance.
Parent Involvement
Rainbow Haven parents are welcome at the Kindergarten at all times. Your involvement, comments and suggestions are always valued and appreciated.
Services Provided
Nutritious, home-cooked meals are provided for morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack during the day and are prepared by our talented chef at Kindergarten. Formula is to be provided by parents. A fortnightly menu is displayed on our parent noticeboard at Kindergarten.
Nappies, sunscreen, hats, T-Shirts and bed linen are also provided by our Kindergarten.
We operate well above regulation adult:child ratios to enable us to provide the highest quality of early childhood care and education possible to all our precious children.
Discipline
Our discipline policy is based on a positive approach that does not damage a child’s self-esteem. Staff work alongside families to provide positive techniques of modelling, guidance, redirection and reinforcement. We aim to develop individual thinkers and teach children self-discipline and acceptable behaviours.
Health and Safety
Set procedures for hygiene are followed to ensure the good health of all staff and children. Staff and children with infectious conditions are not accepted at the Kindergarten and a doctor’s certificate is required upon their return. If a child becomes sick whilst at Kindergarten, parents will be called to pick up their child as soon as possible.
The safety of your child is our primary concern at all times. All staff are well trained and familiar with emergency procedures and an emergency evacuation plan is posted in each classroom.
A fire drill / evacuation is practised regularly and, if you are at the Kindergarten when we are carrying out an evacuation, you will need to participate as well.
Staff receive regular training in first aid and emergency procedures.
