Our Mission Statement

Rainbow Haven is committed to providing children with a learning environment that fosters exceptional education and care and where children are loved, by nurturing and caring staff.

We endeavour to foster open partnerships with parents / guardians to ensure that every child’s early childhood years are a solid foundation for the journey through lifelong learning.

  Our Philosophy

Early childhood is a critical stage of life and high quality care and education provide the essential foundations for a child’s future.

The staff at Rainbow Haven Kindergarten believe that:

© All children are individuals, with different abilities, interests and needs.

© Every child deserves to feel loved and cared for through warm smiles, hugs and individual attention.

© The child’s best interest must be our primary concern at all times.

© Relationships with children should be nurturing, positive and responsive, as children need to feel secure and confident to be able to develop as competent and independent individuals.

© Children should be empowered to develop a respect for, and a positive attitude towards, people of different cultures; the diversity of cultural backgrounds and family values should be respected.

© Children with additional needs should have the same or equal opportunity and rights as other children.

© Relationships with parents should be based on mutual trust and open, honest communication. Parents should feel welcome at Rainbow Haven Kindergarten at all times and their involvement in the programs should be encouraged.

© Parents’ expectations of the programs should be recognised and respected.

© We are an integral part of the community and should work cooperatively with other services and agencies that are available and beneficial to children and parents.

  Our Goals

We are committed to supporting children’s development by programming towards social, emotional, physical and intellectual areas of development in a warm, nurturing environment and strive to meet and exceed parents’ expectations. We aim to:

© Recognise and respect the uniqueness and potential of each child and to give children the opportunity to express their individuality.

© Allow each child to achieve their very best, based on their readiness and willingness to achieve.

© Assist children to develop to their full potential by providing planned and spontaneous experiences, which are developmentally appropriate, and by providing learning opportunities for individuals, small groups and the whole group.

© Encourage children to work independently, as well as being part of a team, and to approach all tasks with a positive attitude.

© Encourage children to develop self-control and to accept responsibility for their actions.

© Encourage and facilitate social relationships among children and to teach children to respect the rights of others.

© Foster trusting, open relationships with our children and parents. Parents are welcome at Rainbow Haven at any time and their expectations are respected and incorporated into the programs through open communication.

© To keep parents fully informed about the progress of their child.

© Work closely with other community organisations and professionals for the benefit of the children, parents, staff and community.

© Become recognised as providing the very best in Preschool Education within the Early Childhood Profession.
